Event Description:
Japanese American Veterans Speaker Event     Oct 16, 2021
Join us Saturday, October 16, for a full day of programming focused on World War II and the Japanese American experience in Oregon during those times.
Speaker Event with Author Linda Tamura @ 2 pm
We are excited to welcome speaker Linda Tamura, the author of two books on the subject, as she reflects on lessons she's learned as well as steps to righting the wrongs of the past. As an orchard kid raised in Oregon, Linda Tamura did not realize that the "camp" her mom mentioned was not a summer camp. As a young adult, her questions led to learning about her mother's wartime incarceration, her father's military service, and her hometown's unsavory past.

There will be additional programming throughout the day including a showing of OPB’s Oregon Japanese American Documentary.
